While there are currently no industry standards for microneedling, it’s important to remember that a technician must be state certified and trained specifically in collagen restoration procedures. Many states do not allow estheticians to use needles without the supervision of a doctor, so make sure to do your research.
Dermarolling, the “micro” pen and derma “pen” are different procedures with varying degrees of effectiveness. None are as precise of as effective as using a rotary microneedling machine, because the rotary machine with single needles targets very specific areas and allows the technician more control. Dermarollers can create small micro-tears in the skin, so be very careful with at-home rollers.
All treatments should be supported with peptides, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, and antioxidants, (E) to increase the collagen making process.
